Why Choose Us
Why You Should Choose Ascension Premier Dental
The biggest reason I think someone should choose our office is that we perform all procedures under one roof. No matter what your problem is, we can help you with it. A lot of people are busy these days. To come in with a problem that we have to send you to someone else, and then maybe you have to be sent somewhere from there again, can be frustrating for a lot of people. With the continuing education that I've completed, and my time and experience that I have, I think it says a lot ... That you can come in, no matter, if you have a cosmetic issue, or if your in pain, or if your son needs his wisdom teeth out, or whatever it may be; we can help you with it, all under one roof. The whole family can come in on the same day, and we can treat everyone that day.
I think the biggest advantage to our office is number one, convenience. Number two, I think the quality of work we do sets up apart. The technology we use, from using the microscope for enhanced vision, to our digital x-rays, to our lasers, to our brand new office. I think that's what sets up apart from other offices. We're always looking for that next level of treatment to offer, and we're always on the cutting edge of technology. I think that not only enhances our results, but it also makes the patients comfortable in knowing that they're getting the very best treatment possible.
Choosing a dentist is a big decision. Ascension Premier Dental offers services and amenities that make us the clear choice for you and your family. Our Geismar dental office works with patients of all dental complications. We’re also conveniently located near Praireville.
Dr. Calvin Bessonet believes that better technology leads to better treatment for his patients. That is why he has made the technological investments to improve his practice and the care for his patients. Some of this technology includes:
Whenever we deciding on whether to implement technology or not, it's always based on is it going to allow me to do a better job for the patient. For instance, we use a microscope to do a lot of our work and it allows us to see the tooth or the surgical area or the roots in a way that you can't see with the naked eye.
I believe I'm the only general dentist in the area that has this technology but it allows me to do work on a level I wouldn't be able to do without it. It also allows us to do a lot of specialty procedures that we wouldn't be able to do that we would normally have to refer out such as root canals where we have to see down into the root. Without that high magnification, we wouldn't be able to do the same quality of work as we do now. It also comes into play with cosmetics too. We've been able to really dial in on the teeth and get the contours of the teeth right and get the shape of them right and make sure that when we're redoing somebody's smile that they're completely satisfied with it after.
- Microscopes to enable microscopic dentistry. Dr. Bessonet is able to detect and fix your problem, no matter how small it may be.
- Digital X-rays for faster results. This method also exposes you to less radiation than the traditional X-ray method.
- Laser cavity detection for earlier detection of issues with your teeth. This type of detection can find cavities that are too small for X-rays to pick up. This allows Dr. Bessonet to find small issues before they become large problems.
We see a lot of patients that are phobic and have a lot of anxiety with getting dental work done, so we offer three levels of sedation. We offer nitrous oxide known as laughing gas. That's just, you turn it on, turn it off, it's on and then it's off. There's no residual effects. You can drive yourself to and from. We also offer oral sedation, which just take a couple of pills to relax you and come in. Then we also have IV sedation. IV sedation is what most people tend to go for because we can pretty much guarantee you're not going to remember being here. You can come in, we put the IV in, we give you just enough drugs to get you comfortable and then get you sleepy, and you wake up and we're done with whatever we needed to do, and you have no recollection of it. I've never had a person regret going that route, and we seem to get a lot of referrals by word of mouth from other people who have had that experience because it's always a good experience.
Our patients’ comfort during their time with us is of great importance. Because of this, we offer items to make your time here easier and more pleasant.
- Two private operating rooms
- TVs with headphones in each of our treatment rooms
- Wireless Internet access
